Darren Parker, PhD, currently serves as Research Scientist II at Evozyne, leading the Host Systems Engineering & Development team since September 2021. Previously, Darren held positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and a Technical Consultant at ARCH Venture Partners. Academic experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant role at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where Darren completed a PhD in Biology under the supervision of Gene-Wei Li, with a thesis defense in June 2020. Teaching roles at MIT encompassed assisting in introductory biology courses, while early research experience includes work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a commercialization internship at Cabot Microelectronics. Noteworthy contributions include co-first author publications in mRNA splicing and first author work on deoxyribozomes.
