Cator Sparks has a wealth of work experience. In 2005, they began their career as an Account Executive at BPMW Agency. In 2012, they became the Editor in Chief at The Manual. In 2018, they began working as a Freelance Writer while self-employed. In 2019, they became a CTI Trained Co-Active Coach at Cator Sparks Coaching. In 2020, they became a GBTQ Group Facilitator at EVRYMAN. In 2021, they became a Certified Life Coach at Boon Health. In 2022, they became a Care Coach at BetterUp.

Cator Sparks attended College of Charleston from 1994 to 1996, earning a degree in Fashion Marketing with a focus on French Studies. Cator then attended American InterContinental University, London from 1996 to 1998, where they earned a degree in Fashion Marketing. In 2023, Cator obtained a certification from EVRYMAN in their FOUNDATIONS Training Program.
