Jim Buhrdorf, P.E. has a diverse work experience. Jim started their career as a Project Engineer at Lamp, Rynearson and Associates, Inc. where they worked on the design of residential subdivisions and commercial sites. Jim then worked at Lamp, Rynearson & Associates as a Telecommunications Project Manager, focusing on fiber optics network and copper OSP engineering, as well as cell tower site design and UG power duct system design.

After that, Jim worked at Pinpoint Engineering as a Project Engineer, and later joined Optica Engineering Group as a Consultant and then President. At Optica Engineering Group, they provided consulting services before taking on the role of President.

Jim then moved to Pinpoint Services, Inc as an OSP Engineer, where they were involved in the engineering of a state-wide fiber optics network for the Nevada Hospital Association and eCare. Jim also worked at the field office in Carson City, NV for two weeks every month.

In 2014, Jim became the Director of Engineering at Metronet Technologies, LLC, overseeing the design of GPON Fiber-To-The-Home networks in Indiana, Iowa, and Illinois. Currently, Jim is the Engineering Manager at eX2 Technology LLC, responsible for the field engineering, design, estimating, and bidding of various fiber optic networks, including FTTH networks nationwide.

Throughout their career, Jim has gained expertise in network architecture, specifically in GPON and Active Ethernet (AE), and has extensive experience in the design and construction of broadband and intelligent transportation networks.

Jim Buhrdorf, P.E. received their Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University, where they studied from 1986 to 1992. Jim has been granted the Licensed Engineer (PE) certification by multiple states including Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Florida, Arizona, Minnesota, Kansas, Texas, Michigan, Kentucky, North Carolina, Maine, Connecticut, Oregon, Wyoming, Massachusetts, Nevada, Georgia, Alabama, and Idaho in July 2001. Additionally, they hold the Licensed Contractor in California (Low Voltage Electrical) certification, issued by the State of California. However, the specific month and year of obtaining the latter certification are not mentioned.
