Carol Buchner

Carol Buchner has a comprehensive work experience spanning various roles and companies. Carol started their career at Scripps Health in 1981 as a CLS and worked there until 1998. Carol then joined Vical as a Research Associate from 1998 to 2005. Carol continued their career at Inova Diagnostics, Inc. as a Lab Manager in Research and Development from 2007 to 2015. From 2015 to 2017, Carol worked at Genalyte, Inc. as a Clinical Laboratory Manager, where they set up a CLIA and CAP accredited laboratory and managed various aspects of a research study. Carol joined Scripps Memorial Hospital in 2005 as a CLS II and served as a Technical Supervisor at Scripps Health from 2017 to 2022. Currently, they hold the role of Senior Manager in the Immunochemistry Laboratory at Exagen Inc. since 2022. Throughout their career, Carol has gained expertise in laboratory management, research, development, and coordination of various laboratory testing areas.

Carol Buchner attended San Francisco State University from 1980 to 1981, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Clinical Science. In addition to their degree, Carol has obtained several certifications in their field. In December 1981, they were awarded the CA Dept Health Clinical Laboratory Scientist license by CLS. Carol also holds a certification in Medical Technology from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), obtained in December 1981. Later, in April 1996, Carol successfully passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) administered by the State of California.
