Jennifer Riel

Jennifer Riel's work experience includes holding the position of Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Exagen Inc. since May 2022. In this role, they are involved in clinical studies, including RT-qPCR detection of inflammatory gene expression and RNA NGS targeted panels and whole transcriptome sequencing. Jennifer is also responsible for AVISE Clinical Testing, specifically flow cytometry CB-CAP for the differential diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Prior to their current role, Jennifer worked at Ambry Genetics from September 2014 to May 2022. During their time at Ambry Genetics, they held various positions including Clinical Laboratory Scientist Supervisor - RNA Laboratory, CLS III Shift Lead Technologist - RNA Laboratory, CLS III - RNA Laboratory, CLS II, Senior Lead QC Specialist - Microarray Laboratory, CLS II, QC Specialist - Microarray Laboratory, and CLS I - Microarray Laboratory.

Jennifer also has experience working at Microconstants, Inc. as a Staff Scientist - Immunology from August 2008 to May 2013.

Jennifer Riel's education history begins with their enrollment at UC San Diego, where they obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Biology from 2006 to 2008. After that, they pursued further education at the UCI School of Medicine in 2013 and 2014. At UCI, Jennifer participated in the Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist Training Program. Additionally, in September 2014, they obtained two certifications: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) from the California Department of Public Health and Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP-MLS) from ASCP BOC.
