Maryke Louw

Maryke Louw has a diverse work experience in the field of physiotherapy. Maryke founded Sports Injury Physio in 2014, providing sports injury diagnoses and treatment through video calls. The practice has grown to include six physios. In 2018, they added Treat My Achilles to their telemedicine business, specializing in diagnosing and treating athletes with Achilles tendinopathy or tendonitis. In 2020, they became the Lead Sports Physiotherapist at Exakt Health. Prior to these roles, Maryke worked as a Senior Physiotherapist with a special interest in Sports Injuries at Sportswise Ltd from 2011 to 2019, treating athletes of all ages and abilities. Maryke also worked as a Sports Physiotherapist at PHYSIO SCIENCE UK LIMITED from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, Maryke has experience as a physiotherapist for Brighton and Hove Albion FC Academy, University of Brighton Men's Rugby, Dr K Kennedy - 30 Harley Street, Physio in the City - Clapham Branch, and Brighton Physiotherapy Clinic.

Maryke Louw received their education in the field of physiotherapy. From 2000 to 2003, they attended Stellenbosch University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in physiotherapy. Following this, Maryke pursued further education at the University of Brighton from 2010 to 2011. Here, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sports Injury Management, specializing in physiotherapy. In addition to their academic qualifications, Maryke Louw holds several certifications. In 2010, they became a Chartered Physiotherapist through The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. That same year, they also obtained the title of Physiotherapist from The Health and Care Professions Council. Finally, in 2015, Maryke achieved Silver Accreditation with the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine, granted by the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine.
