Eric Sonnenberg

Eric Sonnenberg is an experienced nuclear operations professional with a robust background in training, operations, and safety management. Since May 2017, Eric has served as a Nuclear Operations Instructor at Xcel Energy's Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, focusing on training future reactor operators and ensuring operational safety. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Reactor Operator and Operations Shift Manager at NextEra Energy Resources, where Eric oversaw teams and processes to meet regulatory and operational standards. Eric's foundational career began in the U.S. Navy, where responsibilities included managing submarine operations and instructing Naval Academy students in sailing. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a Master's degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University.
