Dave Lerner

Dave Lerner is an experienced engineer with a strong background in mechanical and opto-mechanical engineering. Starting as a Project Manager at US Precision Lens from 1995 to 1997, Lerner contributed to a new lens program with significant sales success. From 1997 to 2000, as a Lead Optical Test Engineer at Tinsley Laboratories, processes for manufacturing and testing precision optics for the National Ignition Facility were developed. Subsequent roles included Sr. Opto-Mechanical Engineer at Onix Microsystems from 2000 to 2002, where Lerner played a key role in the design of MEMS-based optical switches, and Sr. Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager at Dust Networks from 2002 to 2006, overseeing mechanical design in a startup environment. Lerner Engineering Design was founded in 2006, providing independent consulting services until 2018, and since then, Lerner has held the position of Manager of Mechanical Engineering at Excelitas Technologies Corp. Educational qualifications include a BME in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and additional studies at the University of Cincinnati.
