Excelsior Accounting Services

Excelsior is a boutique accounting firm headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio and serving clients throughout America’s heartland and beyond. We focus on outsourced, fractional (part-time) accounting services, which we provide to a wide array of clients – from pre-revenue start-ups pioneering innovative health and technology solutions to large, established nonprofits providing vital services that support our communities. While our work is primarily performed remotely, we are also able to provide on-location services to certain clients, primarily those based in the greater Cincinnati and Chicago areas. At Excelsior, our golden rule is “happy employees make happy clients.” By focusing on employee happiness and well-being first and foremost, we create an environment that attracts and retains talented professionals that in turn have the time, ability and interest to go above and beyond in taking care of our clients. Our founder’s greatest professional accomplishment to-date is when an employee’s spouse told him he’d never seen his wife happier than she’s been since joining Excelsior. Since we first opened our “doors” in August 2018, we are proud to have welcomed seven talented professionals onto our team and to have received resignation notices from a grand total of zero of them. You may be thinking this all sounds well and good, but what do our actual clients have to say? As we like to say at Excelsior, the truth is in the numbers. Even though we are less than four years old and have just about doubled in size each year, as of June 2022, our average client has been with us for nearly two full years. During this time, we’ve closely monitored the number of clients who have asked to discontinue our services for anything other than a change in their needs (e.g., growth to the point of needing an in-house accounting solution). Fortunately, that’s a number you shouldn’t need our help getting to, but we’ll give you a hint – it’s less than one and rhymes with “hero.”
