Jason Wojcechowskyj

Director of Vaccines at ExcepGen

Jason Wojcechowskyj has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. Jason currently holds the position of Director of Vaccines at ExcepGen since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Vir Biotechnology, Inc. from October 2018 to May 2021 as a Scientist, where they played a key role in the CMV research project and led efforts to develop next-generation vectors for the CMV vector vaccine platform.

Previously, Jason was a Postdoctoral Scholar at UCSF from May 2013 to July 2018, where they extensively utilized quantitative yeast genetics and genome-wide genetic interaction platforms to study the infection mechanisms of Salmonella and HIV-1 in different cellular systems, including primary human CD4 T cells. Jason also contributed to the field of genome editing in primary human immune cells.

As a Graduate Student at the University of Pennsylvania from September 2007 to January 2013, Jason conducted research on T cell signaling and HIV-1 entry in primary human CD4 T cells, using quantitative phosphoproteomics. Additionally, they led efforts to identify and characterize host viral entry factors for Rift Valley Fever virus through functional genetics.

Before that, Jason worked as a Research Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006, where they focused on studying the genetic determinants of CD8 T cell control of SIV infection in Rhesus macaques and developed a microsatellite-based genotyping assay.

Overall, Jason Wojcechowskyj's work experience showcases their expertise in vaccine development, infection mechanisms, genetic analysis, and molecular biology in various research settings.

Jason Wojcechowskyj pursued their education in a systematic manner, beginning in 2001 when they enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jason completed their Bachelor's degree in 2005, majoring in both Medical Microbiology and Immunology as well as Classical Humanities. Following their undergraduate studies, Jason further deepened their knowledge in the field of science by pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2012. Jason'sPhD specialization was in Cell and Molecular Biology.
