Matt Risling University of Toronto

Matt Risling is a Teaching Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong Joint Institute and an English Language Trainer at Executive Language Training, both positions held since November 2018. Concurrently, Matt serves as a Partner at Definite Articles Editing and Research Consultants, providing guidance to researchers in project design, funding applications, and grant execution. With experience as a Teaching Assistant and Course Instructor at the University of Toronto since 2010, Matt has taught various English literature courses and engaged students through discussion and feedback. Previous roles include Course Instructor at Ryerson University, Court Reporter at Victory Verbatim Reporting, and English Second Language Instructor at Able English Studies. Matt holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Toronto and multiple degrees in English Language and Literature from Simon Fraser University, alongside a TESL Canada Certificate.
