Brenda Bjerke

Board Member at Executive Women's Forum on Information Security

Brenda Bjerke is a Senior Director of Cybersecurity at Target where she leads the Cyber Risk team. In her role, she is responsible for the Cybersecurity Management Office, Information Security Policy, Training & Awareness, Vendor Security, Business Information Security Office (BISO), Payments & Compliance (PCI, GLBA, SOX & HIPAA) teams for the enterprise. She joined Target in 2003. After Target’s data security incident in 2013, Brenda played an important role in transforming Target’s security culture. Brenda serves on the Executive Leadership Team for Target tech’s Diversity Action Committee which works to ensure a culture of open dialogue, diversity, inclusion, and respect. Alongside that effort, she serves on the Board of Advisors for the Executive Women’s Forum and as Target’s EWF champion to advance women in security initiatives and mentors several women throughout the tech industry. Recently, Brenda has taken on a leadership role as an Ambassador to the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP) to support the growth of a diverse workforce within Cybersecurity. She serves as the Target Sponsor for Blacks United in Leading Technology (BUiLT) to advocate for the inclusion and advancement of Black technologists globally. Brenda has earned a Bachelor of Applied Business and Masters of Business Administration. She is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP). Brenda spends her free time with her family and enjoys volunteering at charities close to her heart.
