Derek Lambert is an experienced network engineer with a strong background in data communications and network design. Derek has worked in various roles at different companies, including Exela Technologies, Credit Acceptance, Security Inspection, Inc., Big Water Technologies, and Auto Konnect.
At Exela Technologies, Derek served as the Lead Network Engineer, responsible for managing data center network route/switch, load balancing, proxies, firewalls, and monitoring. Derek also had expertise in cloud solutions, primarily focusing on Azure and Google Cloud.
Before that, Derek worked as a Senior Network Engineer at Credit Acceptance, where they collaborated with different teams to design and implement networks that met and exceeded standards for in-house applications. Derek had extensive experience with a range of network hardware, including Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and ASA, as well as Cisco ACS, ISE, and F5 GTM/LTM appliances.
Prior to that, Derek was a Senior Network Engineer at Security Inspection, Inc., where they handled network infrastructure maintenance, design, and implementation. Derek also worked with various hardware like Arista, Cisco Catalyst, and Nexus, as well as Fortinet and Dell. Derek had expertise in open-source networking, Linux support, vSphere implementation, and advanced dynamic routing protocols.
Earlier in their career, Derek served as a Network Engineer at Big Water Technologies and as a Network Administrator at Auto Konnect. In these roles, they gained hands-on experience in managing network systems, including Windows servers, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and VoIP systems.
Derek Lambert attended Baker College of Auburn Hills from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained an Associates of Science degree in Information Technology. Derek also holds additional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional R&S in 2016 and Cisco Certified Network Associate R&S in 2012. Additionally, they obtained Fortinet Certified Network Security Professional and Fortinet Certified Network Security Administrator certifications in 2013.
