Sharon Perera has a diverse range of work experience. In 2017, they worked as a Communications Intern at World Vision. In 2018, they were a Program Intern at The Neelan Tiruchelvam Trust, where they gained experience in grant management, project implementation, and organizational structures. Sharon also worked as a Research Assistant at CEPA, contributing to poverty-related development policy. Additionally, Sharon interned at IESC - International Executive Service Corps, where they gained insight into project planning, budget proposals, and program evaluation. Currently, they are working at Exetel as a Business Development Representative.

Sharon Perera's education history begins in 2003 when they attended St. Bridget's Convent Colombo 07 and completed Ordinary level and Advanced level exams. In 2014, they obtained a Certificate Level from BCIS in the field of International Relations and Affairs, as well as Stage 01 certification from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing in Marketing.

From 2016 to 2017, Sharon attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and received a Diploma in Social Sciences. Sharon continued their studies at LSE and from 2016 to 2020, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Development Economics and International Development.

In 2021, Sharon attended the Inter-American Development Bank and completed a program in Results-Based Project Management, specializing in Development Economics and International Development. Sharon also obtained a verified certificate for Data for Effective Policy Making from edX in June 2021.
