Jordan Saalfeld

Jordan Saalfeld has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. They began their career as an Administrative Assistant at Karin Lab in 2017, where they handled calendar updates, email correspondence, and travel arrangements for Dr. Michael Karin. In 2017, they also served as a Lab Assistant at the Pharmacology Lab.

In 2018, Jordan took on the role of a Student Researcher at UCSD Bioengineering Department, where they studied the biomechanics of the right ventricle under Dr. Valdez-Jasso. Their responsibilities included processing and analyzing data using MATLAB.

During the same year, Jordan joined Dr. Hargens Lab as a Student Researcher. Here, they designed and constructed the third iteration of the Lower Body Negative Pressure suit to counteract fluid shifts in microgravity. They focused on Arduino, circuit prototyping, and building a sensor system to monitor the suit's environment.

In 2019, Jordan joined Biological Dynamics as an Assembly Technician, where they worked until 2020. They then transitioned to the role of Process Technician II for a brief period before becoming a Process Engineer. They continued in this role until January 2022, gaining valuable industry experience.

In 2022, Jordan started working at Roswell Biotechnologies as a Scientist until April, before transitioning to their current role as a Process Engineer II at EXOKĒRYX.
