Chris Amick

Senior Project Manager at Exostar

Chris Amick has extensive work experience in project management and technical leadership roles. Chris started their career in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant. After leaving the military, they worked at Verizon as an Operational Support Systems Engineer, where they supported a heterogeneous lab environment and managed various applications and interfaces. Chris then moved on to Paloma Systems as a Task Manager, overseeing a team of consultants and engineers focused on secure video conferencing implementations and testing.

Amick's career then took him to Information Innovators Inc., where they worked as a Platform Analyst for a brief period before transitioning to Hewlett-Packard as a Project/Program Manager IV. In this role, they managed data center transitions and migrations for public and private sector clients, providing migration methodologies and leading cross-functional teams.

Following their tenure at HP, Amick joined Tantus Technologies, Inc. as an Infrastructure Lead, responsible for managing a team of system administrators and database professionals supporting the FAA. Chris also served as a Project Manager/Lead for infrastructure projects.

Amick then joined Artech Information Systems as a Senior Project Manager, where they managed integrated projects within the infrastructure domain for Freddie Mac. Chris provided migration methodologies, minimized risk, and improved customer confidence. Chris also led combined teams consisting of client, third-party, and Freddie Mac resources.

Continuing their career, Amick worked at Insight Global as a Senior Technical Project Manager before joining Unisys as a Senior Project Manager. In these roles, they contributed to project planning and execution, utilizing their strong project management skills.

Most recently, Amick is employed at Exostar as a Senior Project Manager, where they continue to contribute their expertise in managing projects.

Chris Amick has a diverse education history. From 2023 to 2026, they attended Liberty University, where they earned a Doctor of Strategic Leadership degree with a focus on Strategic Leadership. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2008, they pursued a Masters of Science degree in Project Management from American Graduate University. In the years 2002 to 2004, Chris obtained a Masters of Business degree in MBA from Strayer University. Their education journey began in 1996 when they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Information Systems from Park University.

In addition to their formal education, Chris has obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2006, they became a Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. Other certifications include ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE), Security+, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and many more. Most recently, in 2019, Chris obtained certifications such as DevOps Leadership, ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL4), DevOps Foundation, and Professional Scrum Master I. These certifications highlight their dedication to continuing their professional development and staying current in their field.
