Roopesh Ranjan

Roopesh Ranjan is a highly experienced professional in the field of Machine Learning and statistics, currently serving as Senior Director of Machine Learning Science at Expedia Group since May 2018. In this role, Roopesh leads a team focused on the integration of Machine Learning, search, and computational advertising. Prior to Expedia Group, Roopesh held positions at Amazon as a Senior Research Scientist and Machine Learning Scientist, and at Mzaya Pvt Ltd. as Lead Statistician, developing forecasting solutions in the utilities sector. Roopesh has also contributed to analytical projects as a Research Scientist at GE Research and gained academic experience as a PhD student at the University of Washington, where research centered on Probabilistic Forecasting. Additional experience includes internships at Yahoo and Google, focusing on recommender systems and search latency data, respectively. Roopesh Ranjan holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of Washington and a Bachelor and Master of Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata.
