Shiyi Pickrell

Shiyi Pickrell, Ph.D., currently serves as SVP of Data and AI at Expedia Group, a role held since November 2021. Prior to this, Shiyi was the Chief Data Scientist at Swarm Engineering, focusing on democratizing machine learning and AI solutions for the food and agriculture supply chain. Shiyi's extensive experience at Microsoft spanned nearly eight years, during which leadership as Director of Data Science and Analytics facilitated digital transformation initiatives, and as Sr. Group Manager oversaw a large analytics team for significant digital storefronts. Earlier roles included senior positions at Amazon, Boeing, Pacific Biosciences, Applied Biosystems, and Osmetech Molecular Diagnostics, showcasing a strong background in data science, product management, and healthcare project execution. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California and an MBA from UW Foster School of Business.
