Shabbir Imani's work experience includes founding and directing Nexstep, a company focused on creating software for Spend Management and Expense Management. Shabbir played a key role in establishing the company as a leader in this field in India. Prior to this, they worked at HCL as a Senior Management Trainee, where they managed a team responsible for selling solutions to enterprise clients in South Mumbai. Shabbir'sresponsibilities included client acquisition, meeting targets, collections, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Shabbir Imani's education history begins with their enrollment at Holy Name High School, where they studied for an unknown duration of time. After completing their secondary education, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Production Engineering from VJTI, during the period from 1980 to 1983. Following this, they joined the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, where they obtained an MBA degree with a specialization in Marketing and Finance, from 1983 to 1985. Shabbir later attended the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, for a short-term program in 2010, called the Management Development Program (MDP), focusing on Global Expansion with Strategic Partnerships and Alliances.
