Lee Southern

Lee Southern is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in security assessment and management. Currently serving as a Senior Third Party Security Assessor at Experian since August 2023, Southern is responsible for evaluating third-party engagements to ensure the security and appropriate use of Experian's customer data. Previously, at BT from November 2010 to August 2023, Southern held various roles including Security Policy, Governance and Compliance Manager, where responsibilities encompassed the creation and implementation of security frameworks and oversight of the Security Policy Committee. As a Security Risk Manager, Southern managed security risks related to insider threats and developed security controls and compliance metrics. Additional roles included Information Technology Compliance Manager, where oversight of IT compliance was key, and 3rd Party Risk Assessor/Auditor, where management of supplier security and vendor programs was emphasized, along with serving as ISO 27001 lead auditor.
