Andrew Au

Andrew Au has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Andrew is currently working at Expeto™ as a Senior Developer since February 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Sierra Wireless from June 2018 to December 2020 in various roles such as Senior Staff Software/Firmware Engineer, Tech Lead, and Scrum Master. At Sierra Wireless, they played a key role in designing and developing IoT features and enhancing capabilities for LPWA devices. Andrew also successfully planned and deployed multiple software releases, improving reliability and scalability of the data connectivity module.

Before Sierra Wireless, Andrew worked at Cisco from 2005 to 2018. During their tenure at Cisco, they held multiple senior software engineer roles, including Network Orchestration, WAN Optimization, Mobile Optimization, Mobile Access Gateway, and VoIP Gateway. Andrew contributed to various significant projects such as optimizing deployment scaling, enabling WAN optimization in virtualized network functions, and implementing mobile TCP traffic optimization. Andrew also innovated and deployed Cisco's first-generation Intelligent Wireless/Mobile Access Gateway and implemented VoIP call provisioning using DHCP and SIP registration.

Their early career includes working at Cisco from 1997 to 2005 as a Senior Software Engineer in Mobile Wireless Gateways and Software Engineer in WAN Connectivity. Additionally, they worked at Casio USA as a Software Engineer in Wireless Communications, where they implemented a wireless modem and resolved endianness and word-size issues during codebase porting.
