Benjamin Cotts

Principal Engineer at Exponent

Benjamin Cotts has a diverse work experience in the engineering and research fields. Benjamin is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Exponent since March 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Managing Engineer at Exponent Failure Analysis Associates from March 2017 to March 2022. From August 2011 to March 2017, they worked as a Manager at Exponent, where they conducted various electromagnetic field evaluations for different devices and systems.

Before joining Exponent, Benjamin worked at Stanford University in multiple roles. From August 2007 to August 2011, they held the position of International Science Outreach Manager. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant and was also a part of the HAIL Research Group from July 2002 to August 2011.

Benjamin's early career included a role as an Energy Research Fellow at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center from June 2001 to August 2001. During this time, they were involved in independent research and designed an Interferometer for measuring phase stability.

Benjamin Cotts completed their undergraduate education at the University of Portland from 1998 to 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Following that, they pursued further education at Stanford University from 2002 to 2010, where they obtained both a Master's and Ph.D. in the fields of Electrical Engineering and Geophysics.
