Christian Hoyos

Christian Hoyos, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of human factors and research. Christian is currently employed at Exponent, where they hold the position of Managing Scientist, Human Factors starting in April 2022. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Scientist, Human Factors from April 2020 to April 2022 and as a Scientist, Human Factors from December 2017 to April 2020.

Before joining Exponent, Christian Hoyos worked at Northwestern University as a Research Associate for two months in 2017. Prior to this, they held the position of Graduate Research Assistant from September 2011 to August 2017.

Christian Hoyos started their career in 2008 as a Research Assistant at Wesleyan University Cognitive Development Lab, where they worked until May 2011.

Christian Hoyos, Ph.D. received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and French Studies from Wesleyan University, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Following this, they pursued their Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology at Northwestern University from 2011 to 2012. Continuing their education at Northwestern University, they completed their Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from 2011 to 2017.

In addition to their academic achievements, Christian Hoyos has obtained certifications in the field of playground safety and tribometry. Christian became a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) through the National Recreation and Park Association in October 2022. Furthermore, they obtained the Certified XL Tribometrist (CXLT) certification from Excel Tribometers, LLC in March 2022.
