Jeffrey Kornuta has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Jeffrey started their career as a Remote Site Specialist at Alliance Safety Council in 2004. In 2005, they worked as a Training and Development Intern at The Shaw Group, where they allocated grant money and created and managed a training webpage.

From 2007 to 2008, Jeffrey was an Undergraduate Researcher at Louisiana State University, where they optimized rotor blade geometry for a micro air vehicle, developed a manufacturing technique for rotor blades, and led a team in building and testing a high-altitude balloon payload.

In 2008, they continued their research at Louisiana State University as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on the feasibility of using a momentum exchange tether as a hypersonic parachute for reentry.

Starting in 2009, Jeffrey joined the Georgia Institute of Technology as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. Jeffrey investigated the relationships between mechanical stresses on lymphatic vessels and contraction dynamics, developed an experimental test rig, and designed and built an embedded real-time platform.
