Ryan Spray

Principal Scientist at Exponent

Ryan Spray has a diverse work experience in the fields of chemistry, electrochemistry, materials science, and battery science. Ryan started their career as a Scientist at Exponent in 2010 and progressively advanced to Managing Scientist, Senior Managing Scientist, and currently serves as a Principal Scientist. At Exponent, they specialize in electrochemistry and surface chemistry, providing chemistry-based solutions to industries such as mining, transportation, and consumer electronics. Ryan has conducted performance and failure analyses on various products and devices, including primary and rechargeable batteries. Prior to joining Exponent, Ryan worked as a Research Associate at Purdue University from 2004 to 2009, where they developed new electrochemical deposition techniques and studied inorganic-polymer composite materials. Ryan also had a summer internship at Owens Corning in 2004, where they worked as a Project Manager.

Ryan Spray obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Wittenberg University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Purdue University from 2004 to 2009, further enhancing their educational qualifications in the field.
