Principal Engineer at Exponent

Scott Wright has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Scott worked at Exponent as a Principal Engineer from March 2019 and previously held the role of Associate to Senior Managing Engineer from January 2011. Prior to that, they founded and directed Globe Shares from June 2009 to March 2019, where they connected individuals interested in volunteering during their travels to opportunities around the world. At the University of Michigan, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from January 2009 to July 2010 and as a Research Assistant from January 2005 to December 2008. Scott also gained experience as a Research Scientist at LGS Innovations for a brief period in September and October 2008. Additionally, they worked as a Website Developer at UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science from January 2003 to June 2004 and as a Test Engineer at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space from June to August 2003.

Scott Wright has a strong educational background in Electrical Engineering. From 2004 to 2009, they attended the University of Michigan, where they obtained both a Ph.D. and an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2004, they received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UCLA.

In addition to their formal education, Scott has acquired several certifications. In 2019, they became a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators. Scott also holds a certification as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), which they obtained in January 2013 from the same institution. Furthermore, Scott obtained the designation of Professional Electrical Engineer in California, Colorado, Hawaii, and Louisiana from the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists in January 2013.

Scott has also completed training in fire investigation, specifically in Fire Origin and Cause Determination, through the California State Fire Marshall in June 2012. Scott has additional qualifications as a Graduate Fellow through MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Ph.D. Fellow through the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).

Scott'sprofessional affiliations include being a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
