Gaurav Agarwal

Gaurav Agarwal has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Gaurav is currently the Vice President of Platform Engineering at Exponential AI since November 2022. Prior to this, they founded Healthcare for India in October 2019, a healthcare technology company that focused on enabling healthcare delivery through technology. At Healthcare for India, they were involved in consulting, ranging from setting up technology shared services organizations to guiding on AI use-cases in healthcare insurance.

Before founding Healthcare for India, Gaurav Agarwal served as the Head of Technology, India at Guardian Life from March 2018 to September 2019. Gaurav was responsible for evaluating and recommending options for building a Global Capability Center. Additionally, they worked as the Senior Vice President at Cigna Health Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. from December 2016 to March 2018, where they evaluated existing models and approaches for building a Global Capability Center.

Prior to their roles at Guardian Life and Cigna Health Solutions, Gaurav Agarwal held various positions at UnitedHealth Group from December 2007 to November 2016. As the Senior Director of IT, they had P&L responsibility for the software engineering vertical and managed a global team of over 1,500 people. Gaurav was involved in defining and implementing IT strategies, managing global operations, delivering strategic programs, and building partner relationships.

Gaurav Agarwal began their career at Infosys Limited in January 1997, where they worked as a Group Project Manager. Gaurav managed a large US-based health insurance client account and led a team of more than 400 people. Their responsibilities included account strategy definition, business development, customer satisfaction, delivery operations, and team leadership.

Prior to joining Infosys Limited, Gaurav Agarwal worked as a Junior Manager at Steel Authority of India Limited from August 1993 to December 1996.

Gaurav Agarwal pursued their Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi from 1989 to 1993. In 2013, they also completed the Executive Development Program at The Wharton School.
