David Nygaard

David Nygaard, MBA, CITP, serves as the Global Accounts Director at Export Development Canada since April 2016, where responsibilities include fostering relationships with major Canadian corporations to enhance their international growth through financing, insurance, and strategic connections. Previously, David held roles such as Global Trade Director for the Energy sector, leading initiatives with international energy firms in Australia, Latin America, and the US. Prior experience includes directing business development at Katch Kan and Regent Power & Compression, as well as serving in various roles within the Government of Alberta, including Managing Director at the Alberta Mexico Office and Senior Trade Director for the Americas. David's early career featured a research internship at the Inter-American Development Bank and a market research analyst position at Prysmian Group, contributing to their market entry in Europe. David obtained an MBA from IESE Business School and participated in an exchange program at IPADE Business School.
