Eric Zacharia

Eric Zacharia has a diverse range of work experience spanning various industries. Eric is currently working as a Data Scientist at Expression, where they design data analytics and AI/ML solutions for government agencies. Eric also collaborates with other departments and mentors junior members in the Data Science division. Prior to this, Eric founded a company called UnsupervisedBias in 2022. Eric also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Chicago in 2021. Eric has a background in machine learning and held positions as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at QuayChain and a Machine Learning Engineer at UChicago Medicine. At QuayChain, they focused on developing and deploying machine learning models for traffic flow prediction using image processing and deep learning techniques. At UChicago Medicine, Eric worked on a project that involved developing machine learning models to suggest proper ICD codes for doctors and flag patients with a high risk of cardiovascular diseases. Before entering the field of machine learning, Eric gained experience as a Machine Learning Research Intern at Argonne National Laboratory, where they worked on compensating for drifting measurements in water contamination sensors using probabilistic programming. Prior to their career in data science and research, Eric worked as a Senior Aerospace Stress Engineer at Spirit AeroSystems, where they specialized in aerospace stress analysis. Eric also conducted research on fluid dynamics as a Fluid Dynamics Researcher at Syracuse University, earning recognition for outstanding design achievement. Earlier in their career, Eric worked as a Landscaper at JK Landworks and as a Host at Bertucci's, demonstrating their ability to handle diverse tasks in different environments.

Eric Zacharia has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science specializing in Machine Learning from the University of Chicago. Eric also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from Syracuse University. Prior to their college education, they attended Saint John's High School. In addition to their academic qualifications, Eric has obtained several certifications, including a Private Pilot license from Pray Aviation, Inc. in December 2019, an SDI Open Water Scuba Diver certification from National Aquatic Service, Inc. in May 2016, and a Secret Clearance from the United States Department of Defense in March 2020. Eric has also acquired various certifications in General and Python Data Science, Python and SQL, and SQL from TestDome.
