Joe Knakal

Joe Knakal is an experienced Product Design Engineer currently employed at Extang Corporation since March 2023. Previously, Joe served as a Project Engineer at Thetford Corporation, contributing to product development from conception to launch. Earlier roles include Product Engineer at Brasscraft Mfg., and various positions in product management for Ammara Designs and Crosswater London, focusing on decorative bathroom fixtures. Joe's engineering background includes a tenure at Masco Cabinetry as a lead engineer for a vanity cabinet line and experience managing mechanical specifications at Orion Engineering. A strong foundation in product development was established at Alsons Corporation, along with internships at BASF, where Joe gained insights into engineering analysis and manufacturing processes. Joe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and both a Master's in Marketing and an MBA from Walsh College.
