Maximilien Schirm

Maximilien Schirm has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of analytics and data science. Maximilien is currently working as the Director of Analytics and Data Science at Extra Dimension Games since June 2022. Before that, they held multiple roles at Miovision, including Director of Data Science from July 2021 to June 2022, Technical Director from February 2021 to July 2021, and Senior Data Research Scientist from August 2018 to February 2021.

Prior to their time at Miovision, Maximilien worked at Electronic Arts (EA) where they served as a Data Scientist from April 2016 to July 2018. Maximilien also held the position of Database Architect from July 2015 to April 2016, where they developed and maintained postgresql databases for mobile games and worked closely with server engineers and data scientists.

Maximilien began their career at McMaster University, where they pursued a Ph.D. in astronomy. Maximilien served as a Ph.D. candidate from September 2011 to September 2015, conducting research on observational data sets and likelihood analysis of molecular gas in nearby galaxies. Maximilien also worked as a Master's student from September 2009 to August 2011, reducing and analyzing data from the Herschel Space Observatory and assisting as a teaching assistant.

Maximilien Schirm attended the University of Waterloo from 2004 to 2009, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematical Physics. From 2009 to 2011, they furthered their education at McMaster University, obtaining a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Physics and Astronomy. Maximilien continued their academic journey at McMaster University from 2011 to 2015 and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physics and Astronomy. In 2021, they completed a program at Communitech Academy, specializing in Leadership WTF (Where to Focus), though the field of study is unspecified.
