Steven Back has over five years of engineering experience in the chemical and refining industries. Currently, at ExxonMobil since February 2018, Steven has held multiple roles including Advanced FCC & Resid Upgrading Engineer, FCC Process Contact Engineer, Refining Competitiveness Analyst, and Advanced Process Engineer - Distillation. Prior experience includes a position as Process Engineering Co-op at The Hershey Company, where modifications to production recipes resulted in the elimination of a defect on a $40M/year product line and an ingredient replacement project that saved $1M/year. Earlier, as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The Ohio State University, Steven conducted research on heterogeneous catalyst formation and analyzed data using various analytical techniques. Steven holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Business from The Ohio State University.
