Emilie Maes

Emilie Maes is a Partner at EY Law Belgium since May 2024 and has been a Teaching Assistant and Guest Lecturer at KU Leuven since October 2013, specializing in corporate income tax and taxation of financial instruments. Prior to their current roles, Emilie served as a Tax Partner at Arteo from July 2022 to May 2024, focusing on M&A transactions, corporate restructurings, and tax controversy matters. Emilie also held various positions at EY, including Director of Transaction Tax from October 2018 to July 2022, and Senior Executive Transaction Tax from April 2017 to October 2018. Emilie began professional training at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Eubelius, and Stibbe. Emilie holds an LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School and a degree from Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
