Sophia Gonzalez is a dedicated and proactive individual with extensive experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Currently serving as a Diversity Peer Educator at Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership and as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Temple Student Government, Sophia is actively involved in promoting inclusive practices within educational environments. Previous roles include working as a Digital Fellow for Tom Malinowski for Congress, where Sophia managed a team of fellows to enhance youth engagement and social media presence, and as an intern for the Morris County Democratic Committee. Additional experience encompasses positions in the hospitality industry as a Hostess at Sabrina's Cafe and a Fast Food Cashier/Waitress at Tito's Burritos & Wings. Sophia Gonzalez is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government at Temple University and will attend Temple University Japan in 2024.
Eye to Eye National
Eye to Eye is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the educational experiences and outcomes of students with learning and attention differences. Our near-peer mentoring program focuses on pairing middle school or high school/college students in an art room setting. Eye to Eye's in-person curriculum emphasizes critical social-emotional skills like metacognition and self-esteem, giving students self-awareness and confidence, traits that drive academic and life success. This spring, Eye to Eye will be launching a club-based model for high school and college students to promote community, advocacy, and leadership, as well as professional learning workshops for educators to help them best support their students in the classroom.
