Susan John

Managing Director, Private Client Advisor at FLP

As Managing Director, Ms. John is responsible for leading the overall development of financial planning services and their delivery to F.L.Putnam’s clients. Susan also serves as a private client advisor in our Wolfeboro, New Hampshire office, working closely with our investment advisors to help clients navigate their complex financial lives. Susan utilizes a holistic wealth management process by incorporating core elements of financial planning: financial positioning, asset protection, investment management, cash flow, tax management, retirement planning, and estate and legacy planning. She also coordinates with family members, outside advisors and with other members of the clients’ professional team. Ms. John has been a Certified Financial Planner™ professional since 1989 and has more than 30 years of experience in the profession.

Before joining F.L.Putnam, Susan was Founder and President of Financial Focus, Inc. a fee-only financial planning firm providing comprehensive planning services to northern New England professionals, retirees and families.

Susan is the 2019 Chair of Certified Financial Planner™ Board of Standards and was previously a two-term Chair of NAPFA. She continues to work toward professional standards and appropriate regulation for the professional practice of financial planning. She is an adjunct Board member of several local museums and service organizations helping them develop and grow their endowments.

Susan lives “in the woods” in Melvin Village, NH. When she is not trying to make the world a better place, you can find her golfing, skiing or walking the dogs with her life partner, Rory.
