John Campa has extensive work experience in intellectual property (IP) law. John started their career as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO in 1998. John then worked as an Associate Attorney at Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch before joining Nixon Peabody LLP as an Associate Patent Attorney in 2000. In 2004, John joined Microsoft as a Patent Counsel, where they played a role in developing the company's in-house patent preparation and prosecution practice. In 2006, they joined F5 Networks as a VP, Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, responsible for managing patent and trademark matters, IP litigation, and licensing. John also founded the Application Communication and Security Initiative (ACASI), serving as President and Director from 2018 to 2020, and as Secretary and Director from 2021 onwards.

John Campa has a JD degree in Law from the University at Buffalo School of Law. John also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from St. John Fisher University.
