Fabled Motion Pictures is a film production company founded in 2005 by Derrick Sims and Alaina McClellan. The company first established itself when Sims' short film, "The Battle at Marks Mill," was chosen to show alongside IMAX's revival screenings of Ang Lee's "Ride With the Devil". After the success of "Mill," Fabled continued to produce projects that focused mainly on the American south.

After many successful collaborations during the first five years of business, Fabled moved its base to Burbank and began producing films in Southern California. In mid 2011, Fabled co-produced their first European feature. “Making Light in Terezin” was filmed over a month in the Czech Republic as well as in New York, Minnesota, and Connecticut. The film was distributed by Cinedigm and PBS and is available on iTunes and Amazon.

In October 2011, Fabled Motion Pictures produced its first solo feature, “Come Morning.” The film premiered October 21, 2012 at the Austin Film Festival. In February 2013, it won the Jury Award for Cinematography at the Oxford Film Festival and Best of Fest at the Charles B. Pierce Film Festival. It was acquired by Monarch Entertainment and released on Blu-Ray, DVD, digital, and VOD in September 2014. It's now available on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Hoopla, Vudu, and more.

In 2018, their second solo producing venture, "The Perfect Host: A Southern Gothic Tale," premiered in Austin, TX and soon after was acquired by Amazon Prime. The film is now available on AppleTV, The Roku Channel, Plex, and more.

With "Host," FMP shifted again - this time to New Zealand, where post production was conducted on the film. Derrick and Alaina decided to stay, and the now produce films, commercials, and more across Aotearoa, New Zealand.
