Roland Giesen Dr.

Roland Giesen, Dr. has extensive work experience in various managerial and leadership roles. Roland is currently the Managing Director at Fabmatics GmbH since September 2018. Prior to this, they served as the General Manager of 3D-Micromac Laser Technology (Wuxi) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of 3D-Micromac AG in China, from March 2016 to August 2018. Roland also held the position of COO at 3D-Micromac AG from September 2015 to August 2018.

Before joining 3D-Micromac, Roland worked at Applied Materials, where they served as the Senior Manager Customer Spares Operations Central Europe from February 2012 to August 2015. Roland also held the roles of Regional Head OEM Commodities from October 2010 to February 2012 and European/International Purchasing Officer from October 2008 to October 2010 at Applied Materials.

Prior to their tenure at Applied Materials, Roland was the Senior Commodity Manager at Qimonda Dresden GmbH & Co. OHG from January 2007 to October 2008. Roland also gained experience at Infineon Technologies Dresden, where they served as the Section Manager of Production from June 2006 to January 2007, Global Program Manager from July 2003 to June 2006, and Material Engineer in the Procurement (SCM) team from September 2000 to June 2003.

Roland started their career as a PhD student at RWTH Aachen University, where they conducted research from 1996 to 2000.
