Richard Kelsey

Senior Staff Engineer at Fabric Cryptography

Richard Kelsey has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and positions. Richard is currently working as a Senior Staff Engineer at Fabric Cryptography starting in 2023. Prior to this, Richard worked at Gradient as a Principal Software Engineer from 2019 to 2023, where they focused on designing and developing a distributed identity and authentication service. Before that, they were a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Veo Robotics, Inc. from 2018 to 2019. Richard also worked at Silicon Labs as a Distinguished Engineer from 2013 to 2018, where they contributed to the development of the Thread networking standard. Richard spent over a decade at Ember Corporation as a Software Architect, leading the design and development of self-organizing wireless networks and contributing to wireless security protocols. Richard began their career as a Software Engineer at Trenza Corp in 2000, focusing on the design and development of a multi-user virtual-reality web browser. Richard then worked as a Research Scientist at NECI Princeton Research from 1993 to 2000, where they conducted research in distributed programming systems and led the development of an optimizing Java compiler. Prior to that, Richard worked as an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University College of Computer and Information Science from 1990 to 1993 and as an Associate Research Scientist at Yale University from 1988 to 1990.

Richard Kelsey completed their education in computer science at Yale University, earning a PhD degree from the institution. Richard attended Yale University from 1980 to 1987.
