John Stuelpnagel

Dr. Stuelpnagel has currently served as the Executive Chairman of Ariosa Diagnostic since 2009 and a board member at Sequenta, two leading genomic-based Diagnostic companies in the San Francisco bay area. Prior to this, John co-founded Illumina Inc., a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of life science tools and integrated systems for the analysis of genetic variation and biological function.

John was involved in making Illumina one of the most successful life science companies, serving as its first President and Chief Executive Officer from 1998 to 1999, Vice President of Business Development from 1999 to 2002, Senior Vice President of Operations from 2002 to 2005, and Chief Operating Officer from January 2005 to April 2008.

John received his B.S. in Biochemistry and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis, and his M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
