Heather Livingston

Heather Livingston has extensive experience in the field of facility guidelines and architectural publishing. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at the Facility Guidelines Institute since July 2010, Heather has held various leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer and Managing Editor, and has contributed to the development of multiple editions of critical guidelines for healthcare facility design. Previous positions include roles at the American Institute of Architects as Associate Editor and Manager for Business Week/Architectural Record Awards, and Director of the Annual Fund at the American Architectural Foundation. Educational credentials include a Master of Studies in Law with a focus on Health Law and Policy from Wake Forest University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in English, specializing in Nonfiction Writing and Editing from George Mason University. Additionally, Heather has a background in consulting editorial work on significant design guidelines for hospitals and outpatient facilities.
