Anne-marie Fitzgerald

Anne-Marie ensures operational areas are best coordinated to support our program and mission, providing strong direction to our fundraisers and support teams. Anne-Marie is also responsible for Governance and Volunteer Relations.

Anne-Marie Fitzgerald joined Facing History and Ourselves as Chief Officer for Regional Operations in 2014. She took on the role of Chief Operating Officer in 2017. She oversees the organization’s seven satellite offices in the US and entities in Canada and the UK. She supports their programmatic delivery, fundraising, communications and financial management.

Prior to that she was the National Executive Director for Reach Out and Read, a nonprofit organization which promotes early literacy and school readiness to young children and their families. Anne-Marie oversaw all activities of the organization ($30M annual budget) and staff of more than 100 in offices across 26 locations. In 13 years at Reach Out, Anne-Marie held several other positions, including Director of Development and Communications, Director of Institutional Advancement, Vice President of National Programs, and Chief Operating Officer. Anne-Marie serves on boards and committees of multiple organizations, including the Cambridge School of Weston, RESPOND Women's Shelter, Fayerweather Street School, and Bridgewater State College.
