Jonathan Berman has held various positions in the corporate and nonprofit sectors since 2007. Jonathan was a Director and Partner at Dalberg Global Development Advisors from 2007 to 2014, where they led the global corporate practice. In 2014, they became the Chief Executive Officer of J.E. Berman Associates, LLC. From 2015 to 2019, they served as a Director at Asoko Insight, a leading provider of corporate data, analytics, and insight across Africa. Jonathan was also a Director at Invest Africa US from 2017 to 2019. From 2019 to 2022, they were the Chair at AIP Investors, LLC, leading an investment partnership of proven executives to invest equity and debt in the digital transformation of emerging markets. In 2020, they co-founded Now Health Technologies, Inc., which brings accurate disease screening, diagnosis, and wellness to workplaces, pharmacies, clinics, and public spaces. Since 2013, they have been a Contributor to the Harvard Business Review, featuring stories on global leadership, uncertainty, innovation, and frontier markets. Berman is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Shell Foundation, a UK-registered charity established in 2000 that creates and scales business solutions to accelerate access to affordable, renewable energy across Africa and Asia. Jonathan is also a Director at Factor[e] Ventures, a team of venture builders dedicated to supporting the people and ideas that turn challenges in energy, agriculture, mobility, and waste into de-carbonized solutions for emerging and frontier markets.
Jonathan Berman received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Yale University and their Master of Arts (MA) from the University of California, Berkeley. Jonathan also attended Ramaz School.
