Design Director at Fair Harbor

Walter Bassano has a long history of experience in the design industry. In 2021, they began working as the Design Director for Fair Harbor. In 2019, they were the Design Director for Tko Evolution Apparel, where they were responsible for ensuring key milestones were achieved for product margins and sales goals, identifying strengths of each team member, and achieving seasonal fiscal targets for the design department. From 2012 to 2018, they worked for Global Brands Group (Member of Fung Group) as a Senior Designer for New Brands and a Senior Designer for Men's - Kenneth Cole. In this role, they were responsible for researching consumer markets to identify white spaces for new brand opportunities, creating brand concepts, and providing seasonal mood, style, and pattern direction for woven categories. In 2018, they were a Textile Design Consultant for TravisMathew Apparel, where they created original print and yarn dye patterns for men's shirting and shorts. From 2005 to 2012, they worked for Kenneth Cole Productions as a Designer for Men's, an Assistant Designer for Men's, and an Assistant Designer. In these roles, they were responsible for providing seasonal mood, style, and pattern direction for woven categories, managing and delegating responsibilities to Design Assistants and Interns, working closely with all members of the design team to ensure products aligned across categories, maintaining organization and following up throughout the design process, and creating story boards and color reports for each season and category.

Walter Bassano attended The Art Institute of Dallas from 2001 to 2002, where they earned an Associate's degree in Fashion/Apparel Design. Prior to that, they attended Texas Tech University from 1997 to 2000.
