Clinical Director Of Quality And Wellbeing at Fair Haven Community Health Care

Mellisa Pensa started their work experience in 2000 as a student at the College of William and Mary. From 2010 to 2011, they served as the Resident Chair of National Conference at AAFP. Mellisa then joined OHSU as a Family and Preventive Medicine Resident from 2008 to 2012. In 2011, they also worked as a Preventive Medicine Resident at the Center for Evidence-based Policy. In 2011, Mellisa became a Preventive Medicine Resident at Oregon Health and Sciences University. Mellisa then became an Assistant Professor and Associate Residency Director at the University of Virginia from 2012 to 2013. Mellisa served as a Family Physician at Middlesex Hospital from 2013 to 2023. From 2015 to 2023, they had various roles at Yale University School of Medicine, including Associate Program Director and Fellow in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. At OHSU | Oregon Health & Science University, they worked as a Clinical Epidemiologist starting in 2015. Currently, Mellisa is the Clinical Director of Quality and Wellbeing at Fair Haven Community Health Care. Mellisa also held the position of Site Medical Director at the same organization from 2018 to 2023.

Mellisa Pensa completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Classical Studies from William & Mary in 2004. Mellisa then pursued a medical degree (MD) at The University of Connecticut School of Medicine from 2004 to 2008. Following that, they engaged in a Family/Preventive Medicine Residency program at Oregon Health & Science University from 2008 to 2012. During this period, they also obtained a Master of Public Health degree with a focus on Health/Health Care Administration/Management and Health Policy from Portland State University. Mellisa has additional certifications in Family Medicine from the American Board of Family Medicine and in Preventive Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
