Scott Painter

Scott Painter's work experience includes founding and serving as CEO of Autonomy, a vehicle subscription company focused on making transportation accessible and affordable. Scott also founded Fair.com, an automotive technology company. Additionally, Painter co-founded and served on the board of BrightHouse, Inc., an incubator for market-changing companies. Scott was a co-founder of Pricelock, a company providing protection against rising gas prices. Prior to these ventures, Painter founded and served as CEO of TrueCar, Inc. and was the founder and chairman of Build-to-Order, an American car company. Scott co-founded Direct Ventures and Advertise.com, providing advertising services and media plans. Earlier in their career, they founded and served as CEO of CarsDirect.com and Vision Incorporated.

Scott Painter attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1991 to 1993, where they studied Economics. Prior to that, they studied Political Science and Systems Engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point from 1989 to 1991. In 1988, they briefly studied Spanish at the Department of Defense Language Institute.
