John Varnell

John Varnell is the Vice President of Corporate Development at Fairfax. John has over fifteen years of experience in the energy industry.

John started their career in 2000 as the Practice Leader at Stonebridge. John then became the Founder and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Current Power & Gas Corp. In 2003, they became the President/CEO of Victory Power Solutions, LLC.

In 2005, John joined Stream Energy as the Founding Director of Sales. John was with Stream Energy for three years before joining MetaSolv Software as the Manager of Business Development - Professional Services.

John has been with Fairfax since January 2008 and has held various positions within the company.

John Varnell completed their high school education at Duncanville High School. John then went on to study computer science at Texas A&M University-Commerce, before transferring to the engineering program at University of Texas El Paso.

Their manager is V. Prem Watsa, Chairman & CEO. John Varnell works with Jennifer Allen - Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Olivier Quesnel - Vice President and Chief Actuary, and Jean Cloutier - Vice President, International Operations.
