Joe Vidulich

Board Member at Fairfax County EDA

Joe Vidulich is Director of Government Affairs for Capital One, a Fortune 100 financial holding company, headquartered in McLean, Virginia. He is responsible for managing the Capital One’s political and policy advocacy, reputation, and relationships with federal policymakers. He is Capital One’s primary policy expert on legislation affecting Capital One’s retail and commercial banks, and the issue areas pertaining to environment, social and governance (ESG) and diversity & inclusion. He also has issue area expertise in cyber security and technology business matters.

Prior to joining Capital One, Joe was the Vice President of Government Relations for the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, where he served as the Chamber’s lead legislative liaison and lobbyist before local, state, and federal policymakers on behalf of the association’s 850 members and 500,000 regional employees. Previous to his work at the Chamber, Joe was the Public Policy Manager for the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) where he directed political activities associated with their effort to execute on the organization’s strategic public policy initiatives. He also focused on enhancing Virginia’s statewide competitiveness in attracting major technology investment and pursuing economic development opportunities for the commonwealth.

Joe earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Public Administration and certificates in Campaign Management and Public Affairs & Issue Advocacy from American University in Washington, D.C. He previously served as the President of the American University Alumni Association and as a guest lecturer in AU’s School of Public Affairs.

He serves on the board of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) and the Northern Virginia Urban League. He previously served on the board of the Tysons’ Partnership, the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance, the Fairfax County Economic Advisory Commission, Virginia21, the National Campus Leadership Council (NCLC) and the Virginia Public Access Project’s Young Associates Board. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
