Michael Jehle has extensive experience in museum leadership and cultural management, currently serving as the Executive Director of the Fairfield Museum and History Center since February 2006, overseeing a $1.4 million budget and a twelve-person staff. Prior roles include Development Director for Tall Ships America, where philanthropic support increased by 75%, and Director of Curatorial Affairs and Operations for the New Bedford Whaling Museum, where operations encompassed a multi-location campus. Jehle also held the position of Director of Museums and Curator for the Nantucket Historical Association, leading significant organizational growth and strategic planning. An experienced maritime educator and professional mariner, Jehle has a strong educational background, including an MA in American Civilization from the University of Pennsylvania and training from prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School Executive Education and the Museum Leadership Institute.
