Lígia Almeida is a seasoned professional in the field of biochemistry with extensive experience in research roles. Currently serving as a Senior Research Associate II at FairJourney Biologics since July 2016, Lígia previously held positions as Senior Research Associate I, Research Associate, and Junior Research Associate within the same organization. Prior to this, Lígia worked as a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Medicine, Porto University, involved in a project focusing on primary afferent neurons and osteoarthritis, and completed a Master Thesis in Biochemistry regarding the effects of amylin on neuropathic pain. Earlier research experience includes an internship at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, concentrating on the molecular characterization of antibiotic resistance in Escherichia coli strains. Lígia holds both a Licentiate Degree and a Master Degree in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar.
